After the 3-days orientation

With the first 3 days over, I have more to add about my new bunch of kids :P

Firstly, about those who had already gotten into my good books!

I like my new class reps. A tiny boy + a girl with a sweet voice.
They emerged as the pair with the most votes during the nomination exercise.
Having a problem with remembering girls' names, I did not pay much attention to CY on the first two days except only to remember that she is rather quiet and attentive. It was only when I hear her speak when I was giving her some instructions when I realised what a sweet voice she's got. A very sweet girl-next-door type , it's no wonder why many chose her to be their class rep. D is a tiny boy with quite a matured look. Though small, he does not behaves like a little boy but more like a big brother.
I guess I've made the right choice in getting the class to nominate rather than having me select them.

Besides the class reps, there is a girl prefect, JT, who carries a very bright and warm smile on her face everyday! Very attentive, cheerful and polite, I really enjoy having her in my class. A small bespectacled girl, J, has been very helpful and often asks me if she could help me. I appreciate that but when she leaves her seat to volunteer to help me too often, it becomes a little disruptive or I'm afraid the rest would follow suit. Hence, I had no choice but to "trap" her by placing her in the middle of a group rather than having an "aisle" seat :p

Now for the boys. RY who is a prefect has a Chinese mother and a Malay father. He had made a mistake of leaving his lunch box and water bottle unattended during recess while he joins his friend at the parade square to play. After picking up his items from one of his classmates, I went back to class to ask if anyone had lost something during recess. He owned up after much hesitation. When I explained to him about being responsible for his belongings despite of their monetary value, I could see him fighting back his tears. The message I was trying to put across was not to repeat the same mistake again. Somehow, I'm confident that it would be his only time. Otherwise, I really do like him because he gives sensible answers and is very attentive in class.

I have a few bubbly boys. When I use "bubbly", there lies a risk in it becoming "talkative". One of them speaks in a very high pitched voice, one easily excited boy who looks blur, able to talk to anyone but displays the most remorse on his face when caught for talking at the wrong time :) I'm quite sure I would be sharing more stories about these characters in future!

In summary, I like my class (so far)!
